arms of the American Lee family

Post by Joseph M James » Wed Sep 06, 2017 6:18 am

All controversy aside The arms of the American branch of the lee family are in my opinion are beautiful. These arms were shared by two signers of the Declaration of Independence and a President of the Continental Congress ( being trouble makers seemed to run in the family early on :D ). The Lee arms are in 1st. and 4th. quarters, though according to Burkes 1884 ed. the Lee arms ( Coton co. Salop had eight billets instead of ten). The 2nd. and 3rd. quarters are Astley from Staffordshire. Being an animal lover I love the squirrel in the crest (I'm an old hippie vegetarian).
