Upton Grey, Hampshire

Post by Stephen J F Plowman » Wed Jan 31, 2007 3:53 pm

Just to advise that I have added two new "places" to my website as a result of my travels this weekend;

The main one is Upton Grey (map) can be viewed at;

http://www.heraldry-online.org.uk/upton ... ongrey.htm

There is a single entry for Up Nately (map) which can be viewed at;

Unfortunately the churches at Tunworth and Mapledurwell were shut. I will have to revisit. However, there was this gravestone in the churchyard at Tunworth;

He was the 4th son of the 1st Viscount Camrose. Burke's list the Viscount's Crest as "A griffin sejant regardant Sable collared Or." I assume that, as the 4th son, the carbuncle has been added for difference. Does anyone know if any difference was applied to the Arms?
Yours aye
