Heraldic Business/Calling Cards

On Monday I managed to attend my first heraldic society event!

Namely, the AGM and reception of The White Lion Society at the St Benet's church and then at the College of Arms. One of the gentlemen (probably an Esquire actually

) had some business/calling cards sporting his Arms. I hasten to add that I believe these were for use amongst the heraldic community rather than society at large. I was wondering as to the thoughts here on that idea?

I must confess to having a play around with my PC, printer and some old business card templates last night. I settled upon my crest, name, email and website on the front and home address & telephone number upon the reverse.

I will ask Sketraw to put up the Armorial Register Business card; if you like it I will tell you who designed it.

Gentlemen,
I believe the oblique should be removed; as we are all aware neither arms nor order,decorations and meadals appear on calling cards

Quite right Robert, but this is not a calling card; it is a business card. The purpose of a business card is to introduce the business not the carrier of the card. But (never start a sentence with 'but') did you like the design of the card?

Good point Brian, Thank you for the clarification.

There is no doubt of that; however my comment to remove the oblique from the heading business/calling cards would be of help. I have seen chaps' visiting cards with both arms and enough post nominals to sink a ship.

But I do see, in my oblique comment, room for misinterpretation. Oh my I am getting puny, do forgive.

Oh and of course remove calling cards from the heading too.
