The purpose of The Armorial Register Limited’s International Register of Arms is to record armorial bearings along with their origins and the rational behind their creation if known. Whilst we are happy to include some reasonable and short biographical information on the armiger and his or her immediate family, we are regrettably not in a position to verify claims of ancient noble or royal descent and therefore we wish to inform would be applicants that requests to record details such as (for example) “the armiger chose the tinctures red, white and blue because these colours are in the Union Flag and he is the 24th Cousin four times removed from Queen Elizabeth II” will be politely declined.
