This particular emblazonment is perhaps worthy of your comment however, I would like to think that there are artists out there who could produce a version remaining within the confines of the blazon whilst at the same time satisfying the requirement to be translated into a real crest.
Your comment reminds me of the observation made by the then Norroy and Ulster King of Arms (now Garter), when discussing the design of my crest, who said that he was satisfied that should I ever be fortunate enough to be admitted to the Order of the Garter, my crest could easily be carved in wood to accompany my banner on display in the Garter Chapel. That was his guiding principle when it came to the designs of crests and I am confident that not one of his Garter Knight crests looks out of place or in the least bit awkward once it finds its resting place in the Chapel.
