I am sure that the emblazonment reflects accurately what the armiger had in mind. But were they starting from the blazon I suspect that the majority of heraldic artists would depict the mullets and plate considerably larger than this illustration.

It does seem that the mullets and the plate should be somewhat larger.

There are many examples of shields with smaller than 'usual' charges in the history of heraldry. I think if the charges were any bigger on this particular shield the Or mullets on the trimount would have been squashed against the lion. The smaller plate seems to look better with this design too. The image on the website appears to be dithered and low res - the mullets and plate look bigger on the twitter image.
