Nice design! - you've also recently posted an entry for his son, same artwork with a red cadency label.

One correction - the first sentence of the rationale mentions "the Scottish Heraldry Society" - should be "the Heraldry Society of Scotland".

The design of these arms is clearly based on those of the historical Irish Devlin chieftains - blue shield with a gold Celtic cross between three stars, either gold or silver (I've seen both ways online, don't know which is more correct).
