Scottish v English Arms laws

Post by David Craig » Wed Jun 14, 2006 10:05 am

Can anyone can point me in the direction of a good - preferably fairly modern - book on the difference between the law of arms in Scotland and England.

I am particularly interested in the law relating to the matriculation of arms and the degree of reciprocity of recognition by Lyon and the College of Arms. (I have read Learney and Woodcock).

Many thanks.

I may be wrong David but I don't think there is a book that compares the Law of Arms of Scotland with that of England.

I think perhaps you will have to do a DIY and by a book on English Heraldry perhaps one of the other forum users will be able to guide you on what book best to purchase.
