Personally I am a fan of large crests and hate to see a tiny little crests stuck on the top of a helm. The two parts of the achievement that says something about you, are the shield and the crest so I think it is good that they are prominent. Hey Mark, we never stop learning :) I do think potential armigers no matter the source, should be advised about the emblazonment of their arms and what gives them a nice balance. I know this is my opinion but the ⅓ layout has been an acceptable norm for many years.
