The Arms of Djordje N. Jovanovich

These arms were assumed by the armiger’s grandfather, Miodrag B. Jovanovich, and the other two heads of the branches of the Jovanovich-Djakovatz-Popov Family and were later registered in the name of the armiger's father, the Rev. Fr. Nenad M. Jovanovich.

According to the Serbian heraldic tradition, the same coat of arms is used by all of the male descendants of the Jovanovich-Djakovatz-Popov Family, who share a common ancestor, The Very Reverend Protoprezbyter Fr Djordje Jovanovich, who was the last in the centuries long line of Priests from this family; until the armiger's father continued the family tradition becoming the twenty-second Orthodox Priest in the direct male line.

The Cross Gules is a reminder of the Family Patron Saint – Great Martyr George. The twenty-one Crosses paty convexed (commonly refered to as The Kosovo Cross) symbolise as many ancestors who were Orthodox Priests in the Parish of Nishka Kamenitza. The jewelled chalice Or in the crest has the same significance, alluding to the family's history and heritage.

In accord with contemporary Serbian heraldic regulations the armiger's father has introduced differencing into the arms of his branch of the Family. As a consequence of this differencing Djordje N. Jovanovich uses the lay arms of his Grandfather and his Father debruised with a three point label Azure to signify he is the principal Heraldic Heir of The Rev. Fr. Nenad M. Jovanovich (See entry No 0036).
